Press statement
As part of its ongoing and orchestrated campaign of extermination of displaced persons and civilians in the El Fasher area, the Al- Daglo terrorist militia committed, on Saturday 11th October 2025, a new massacre at the Dar Al-Arqam shelter centre in El Fasher. The heinous crime claimed the lives of 57 civilians, including 17 children, 22 women, and 18 elderly people.
This latest carnage comes amid continued international disregard for the ongoing genocide perpetrated by the terrorist militia against certain communities in various parts of Sudan, beginning with the genocides in El Geneina and Ardamata in June 2023, the villages of Gezira State throughout 2024, the Zamzam and Abu Shouk camps and El-Fasher mosque in recent months.
In this connection, the Government of Sudan calls upon the United Nations Security Council to shoulder its responsibilities by confronting this terrorist militia and its sponsors, and to enforce its Resolution 2736 (2024), which demands that the militia immediately lift its siege on El Fasher and cease its attacks. The Government further urges all international and regional actors to take concrete measures to halt the flow of weapons and mercenaries to the terrorist militia and to punish its leaders and members responsible for these atrocities. It moreover calls f upon these actors to support its efforts towards ending the suffering of civilians in El Fasher and other cities besieged or occupied by the terrorist militia.
