General Information about Sudan
The name of the country of Sudan was given to the part that lies south of the African Sahara, which extends from the Atlantic Ocean in the west to the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean in the east, while this name now means the area that lies south of Egypt, the central part of the Nile Basin. It was mentioned in the Torah and the Shura texts, the name Kush was given to this part of the land. As for the current name (Sudan), it is the plural of the word black in Greek.
The Republic of Sudan is an Arab-African country that represents a unique social fabric with various cultures, symptoms and facial features. It is rare to exist anywhere in the world. Sudan is located in the northeastern part of the African continent, between latitude 2.4 north of the equator and longitude 38.22. It occupies a middle position between Africa and the Arab world; this location gave Sudan a unique advantage as it is the main crossing between North and South Africa, and it remained until the middle of the current century the main passage for pilgrims and trade convoys from West Africa to the Holy Land and East Africa. African countries also come in the sixteenth rank among the world's largest countries in terms of area, and it is the second largest African country after Algeria and the third Arab country after Saudi Arabia and Algeria. The land area is 1,752,187 square kilometers, and the sea area is 129,813 square kilometers.

The flag
The flag of Sudan consists of 4 colors (red, white, and black in parallel transverse stripes, and the green color in the form of a triangle in which the colors meet in the north of the flag). .
Symbolism of flag’scolors:
1- Red: symbolizes the blood of the martyrs.2- White: symbolizes peace and purity.
3- The black/ symbolizes the strong former ancestors.
4- Green/ symbolizes fertility and growth.
Emblem
Saqr Al-Jedyanor what so called (Sagittarius);was chosen as a symbol of the state because it symbolizespride and chastity and is distinguished by strength, intelligence and beauty and is known for its ability. It is able to fly at great heights, as it is described as sophistication, ferocity, speed, wisdom, solemnity and calmness. The Sagittariusis also considered one of the falcons that refuse to be tamed and trained to hunt for others. It has two colors for its feathers: silver with black and the second color is golden with black. .
