The Government of Sudan strongly condemns the treacherous attack launched today, Saturday, 30 August 2025, by the terrorist Al-Dagalo militia on the Heglig oil fields, which led to the death and injury of a number of civilian workers.

Since the start of it’s rebellion in April 2023, this militia has repeatedly targeted vital infrastructure and basic service facilities in Sudan. The latest attack goes further by threatening the interests of the Republic of South Sudan and international companies that depend on Heglig for the export of South Sudan’s oil.

The Government of Sudan has consistently highlighted these violations, but the lack of international response has encouraged the militia to expand its attacks beyond Sudan’s borders, posing a serious threat to regional security. For security reasons, the Sudanese Government may have to suspend operations in the field and evacuate staff to protect their lives.
