Press Statement
The Government of the Republic of the Sudan welcomes the statement by the Secretary-General of the United Nations expressing his deep concern regarding the action undertaken by the RSF militia and the “Ta’sis” alliance to establish a so-called “parallel government” in Sudan. The Secretary-General characterized this step as escalatory and counterproductive to efforts aimed at restoring peace.
The Government of Sudan views this statement as a clear expression of international and regional support for the legitimate government of Sudan and a reaffirmation of the UN’s commitment to the principles of international law and the preservation of state sovereignty and institutional legitimacy. The Secretary-General’s rejection of any attempt to impose a de facto reality outside the framework of the Sudanese State aligns with the position of the Sudanese government.
The Government reiterates its steadfast commitment to achieving a comprehensive and just peace and to completing the transitional phase in a manner that genuinely reflects the aspirations and will of the Sudanese people—anchored in the rule of law, national sovereignty, and territorial unity.
