Press Statement

The terrorist militia persists to target civilians in safe villages, towns, and settlements of internally displaced
persons (IDPs). In the past few days, the Militia launched a new aggression against various areas in Sennar state, including the villages of Jabal Muya, where it has committed a massacre that claimed the lives of more than 40 innocent unarmed civilians on the outskirts of the city of Sennar. The terrorist militia also attacked the city of Sinja, which accommodates the largest number of IDPs as a result of the Militia’s war against the Sudanese people. These attacks caused a new cycle of displacement of civilians who are fleeing the Militia’s crimes of killing, looting, raping and coercive eviction of homes.
The Militia has, furthermore, transformed Sinja Hospital into a center of military operations targeting defenseless civilians.

In addition, pursuant to its sinister design to destroy the country’s infrastructure, the terrorist militia today blew up part of the Halfaya Bridge in Khartoum North.
Reaffirming the terrorist nature of the Militia, these heinous attacks demonstrate the dire consequences of the international community’s inaction towards the Militia’s crimes and the continuous external backing its receives from several countries in the region
and beyond.
