Press statement
The Government of Sudan condemns the criminal attack carried out by the terrorist Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia on Friday, 6 February 2026, in which drones were used to target trucks belonging to the World Food Programme (WFP) while they were carrying out humanitarian missions to deliver food assistance to civilians affected in North Kordofan State, specifically in the areas of Allah Karim, Al-Sumaih, Al-Rahad, and the city of Umm Rawaba. The attack resulted in casualties and the destruction of relief supplies designated for humanitarian response.
The Government affirms that targeting relief convoys and humanitarian assets constitutes a grave violation of the principles of international humanitarian law, particularly the Geneva Conventions, and represents a deliberate undermining of efforts to deliver humanitarian assistance to those in need.
The Government of Sudan draws the attention of the international community to the fact that this attack does not constitute an isolated incident, but rather represents a continuation of a pattern pursued by the terrorist militia aimed at obstructing humanitarian work and using deprivation of food as a means of pressure against civilians. These acts are taking place in full view and knowledge of the international community, which has remained silent in the face of war crimes that demand accountability. In this context, the Government of Sudan calls upon the international community to clearly condemn these practices and to take the necessary measures to ensure that the terrorist Rapid Support Forces militia and its supporters are held accountable.
The Government of Sudan renews its commitment to full cooperation with the United Nations and its humanitarian agencies, and to making every effort necessary to ensure the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian assistance to those entitled to it.
